A Little Pause

As we pause in remembrance today, I grieve for all the lives sacrificed through wars.

My heart breaks even more for those blinded, not looking further as to why these young lives are lost. Look deeper and you will see the same people finance both sides. Look back through our civil war, revolutionary war, continuing back through history.

Still, God's truth marches on, irrespective of nations, peoples, sects.

form, function, neither

Having accepted that I will spend the rest of my life in a senior citizen complex, I am seeking a very different, more colorful style in my small apartment. I call it modern, but I have been informed that it is actually mid-century modern, thus verifying my dinosauric status. I have been searching for a "statement piece" chair, in a specific color; wavering between something old and something new, just wanting something unique. Unable to decide, I consult my interior designer friend who advises, "choose function over form." Stymied even more, I choose neither. So, if you visit me, you will have to sit in one of those canvas folding chairs, or bring your own. I am not expecting much company.

dentures, hearing aides, iphone....

...... What do they have in common? Here's a clue: lost dentures, found hearing aides, inability to retrieve messages from new iphone..... Just a typical day in the life of a care giver 😎. May there be somebody to return the favor when this describes me.

Dust Duality

Dust as Nemesis:  Time flies, and having moved a month ago (closer to assist my mom in her “golden years”), I find a gift that keeps on giving. I really don’t understand where dust comes from, I just know I detest the stuff & time wasted to stir it up so it can resettle and continue the monotonous cycle.

On the other hand….

Dust as Friend:  Trying out my new 360 degree duster, I take the opportunity to, “leave it in the dust." As those minute visible particles dissipate, so do the events of the past year or so (that I have been blogging about), leaving a clean surface upon which to write new adventures.

Join me in some "spring cleaning" of your own!
