A Change of Pace
It's been a while, but I finally got to walk a beach - in Ocean City with my cousin. So grateful to the Most High for 70 degree November weather.
Next stop, exhibitors at a conference in Raleigh, NC. And now, back into the senior citizen routine, thanksgiving with my mom at CRC.
And the most exciting news - I can fly again. After my hip debacle, I was a little unsure. However, I have TSA pre-check so I don't have to take off my shoes & they feel sorry for me when they see the screening picture of my titanium femur insert. I managed all the long corridors & all carry-on luggage! Cannot wait to get on the road - or, I should say, in the skies again!! The only drawback - I can't pace up and down while waiting for my flight (as in the olden days).

November
[Editor’s
Note (that's me): In this the season of thanksgiving, we sincerely thank you for your
generosity in supporting all of our efforts. May you take time to enjoy the
fall harvest, as my mother and I recently did at our local farm market.
And while you are enjoying your bounty, may you also enjoy browsing through
this issue where, in addition to the regular features, you can find “Hope through Soap,” “Sleep and Dreams,” “Pons-Winnecke,” and “Shalom.” (Photo by my 92 year old mother)]

From the Editor
(Intro to the newsletter I edit)
[Editor’s Note: Fall
is in full swing here in the north, the trees are a symphony of colors, the
geese & swans are practicing for their flights south, fireplaces provide
warmth on chilly evenings, and my mind is drawn towards Home and to all of you
as our spiritual family. We are so grateful for your love and support, &
hope you will find time to curl up with one of our books, be it the
old-fashioned version, or one of our new digital versions.]

5th Day.....
..... coke withdrawal, not the drug, the "a-cola" kind. The severe headaches are about gone, now the lethargy and mustering enough strength to soldier through. This is my third life-time experience; apparently I am a very slow learner. The silver lining is that I am going through this with a friend, texting our headaches, lack of energy, cravings, loss of functioning brain, etc. Today, I went out for my walk, without my shorts. Apparently, it is not a rare event in the senior complex. I will be very careful with today's task - editing the company newsletter. For incentive to make day 6, we are figuring out what our 30 day chip will be. Maybe you'd like to join us.

7th Day
More memories of my father..... growing up he insisted on a "day of rest," no homework, no work, pleasure reading, music, lots of time in the park. To say we were thought of as weird puts it mildly, but it became a habit that I fell into during periods of my adulthood, then I would lapse. I am going to try it again, adding stopping of electronics, or at least cutting way back, and it always includes a special breakfast! Give it a try with me!

Respite
Summer's over, but I did manage to spend some time of reflection & inspiration in the Smokey Mountains. Jeep loved it and she is itching to get to big brother Rockies. It helps that I am an expert mountain driver, even in the European Alps. The credit & thanks goes to my father who would not let me drive until I could go round and round a cul-de-sac without adjusting the steering wheel. May you all spend some time in beautiful surroundings!

Harvey
My heart breaks watching the human suffering caused by hurricane Harvey.
I am sickened and angered knowing this storm is controlled, maybe even
contrived by those of another race who have no emotion, no ability to care for individual
people; those to whom this is simply another move in the political chess game, adding
fuel to mayhem and violence, rushing humanity to the despicable goals of the nwo,
ending humanity as we know it. In the midst of this, I say thank you to Zen Garcia for
letting me understand the "why," i.e., two bloodlines. I say, “Maranatha, come Lord Jesus come” & while we are here, give us
strength to continue the battle, leading more souls to the eternal peace of the
Most High.

Reflections on Static
Upon review of a year of posting, a more appropriate title might be,"Getting Comfortable with Static," "Growing Accustom to Static," or more appropriately,"Backwards in Static." Now, I believe that life (or at least my life) is just a series of problems to solve - so perhaps "static" is just a state of mind, one which I now must get back to - I don't see a clearing on the horizon - in fact, I have decided I prefer static - static is pleasant - cue "positive thinking." (just as soon as I take care of practical matters like: utility companies not transferring my account - apparently somebody has stolen my ID & SSN & I have a credit rating in the 200's; my internet company just doubled the monthly rate; in changing addresses for health care I have set off a whole domino effect pushing me into mega static status; and that is just the tip of the ice berg.....). And now to get my mother to the dr as her lungs continue to weaken.
Moral: be careful what you think & pass on to others. I believe this life is to prepare us for the next - obviously, I need lots of preparation!

Banana Republic Optical
Since I mostly wear contacts, I don't pay too much attention when I get glasses (every decade or so) - I just want them cheap. First, I get lost trying to pick them up (in my defense, I have moved to a new small town). The next day, with address in hand, after I pick them up, I get home and notice along the sides is "Banana Republic." I am upset because I detest free advertising all over our clothing, etc. that this culture has submitted too (not to mention not being a fan of their politics). Then, it hits me - I am making a political statement - we are indeed living in a Banana Republic & I wear them proudly (when I forego contacts). You will have to put your glasses on to read 😎.
