Erma Bombeck is my hero, with her ability to capture the reality
of everyday life in such a way that makes me laugh & makes me think. In a
previous life, I was told that I wrote much like her & was even given the information
to enter the writing contest held in her honor (thank you my older sister, the
real writer in the family) – but life stepped in, or should I say stomped in,
